Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what proportion of council tax debt has been remitted by magistrates on the grounds of hardship in each year since 2010.

The Ministry of Justice does not centrally hold the information requested.
Local Authorities are the responsible prosecuting body for council tax evasion and hold the relevant information regarding council tax debts.
