Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the Answer of 13 June 2019 to Question 262418, what the threshold for the number of participants is in an accredited programme below which his Department does not consider it suitable for impact evaluation.
The department seeks to deliver impact evaluations for all accredited programmes. However, the feasibility of an impact evaluation needs to be reviewed first in an evaluability study. The factors that are reviewed to determine whether an impact evaluation is possible include:
Evaluability studies ensure that the best possible evaluation approach is identified. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a single threshold for the number of participants in an accredited programme below which it would not have an impact evaluation carried out, as it will differ by programme.
The department is committed to publishing all research carried out in line with the Government Social Research guidelines.
