Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many speeding fines were collected in the (a) North Wales, (b) Dyfed Powys, (c) South Wales and (d) Gwent Police areas in the 2018-19 financial year.

Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Services (HMCTS) system captures data on the total amount of financial impositions collected but do not break that information down by offence type.

It is not possible to determine the volume of speeding fines collected for the specified areas in Wales in the 2018-19 financial year without incurring disproportionate costs. This answer could only be provided by a manual search of all live and closed fine accounts.
