Judges: Working Hours

Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what data his Department holds on the working hours of judges in each year since 2010.

Data on the working hours of judges is not routinely collected. Judges are not contracted to work set hours. Their terms and conditions of service stipulate that they will sit a set number of days each financial year. This varies slightly between the different levels of the judiciary.
