Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what steps his Department is taking to protect UK shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The UK is committed to maintaining maritime security in the Gulf region, and safeguarding freedom of navigation. To this end, the Royal Navy has been accompanying Red Ensign Group flagged merchant vessels through the Strait and the UK has also joined the International Maritime Security Construct.
