No final decision has been made regarding the use of Site A at MoD Bicester for asylum accommodation, and no final decision will be taken until the necessary assessments, planning permissions and approvals have been completed and properly considered.

All individuals who claim asylum are subject to mandatory identity and security checks, with appropriate action taken where concerns are identified.

The Home Office regularly works in collaboration with police, local authorities and other statutory partners to ensure that accommodation sites are successfully managed and the impact upon the local community is minimised. This includes a comprehensive and ongoing approach to identifying and managing any public protection or safeguarding risks.

If the site is taken forward, the Home Office would continue working closely with local police and partners to assess risks and help protect the safety and wellbeing of local communities, staff and those accommodated on site.
