Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, for what reasons the Director of the Social Market Foundation was recommended as the independent member of the selection board which will advise him on the appointment of the Chair of the Teaching Excellence Framework Panel.

The Commissioner’s Code of Conduct states that all panels must have an external element. The Director of the Social Market Foundation was selected to be the Independent Panel Member due to his expertise in the field of Higher Education.
