Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the (a) level of access to covid-19 tests for NHS staff who want one and (b) accessibility of signposting on access to those tests.

Any member of National Health Service staff with COVID-19 symptoms can get a test – either via their employer or via the online Government portal. Increased testing capacity means that we will now be able to extend regular testing to asymptomatic NHS staff, guided by Public Health England and clinical advice. This approach is being piloted in a number of acute, community and mental health providers, which will inform further roll out in the future.
