Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what safeguards there are for the maintenance of the Swing Bridge in Newcastle; and what funding is provided (a) to or (b) through the Port of Tyne for that purpose.

The Port of Tyne has various responsibilities towards the maintenance of the Swing Bridge, and these are a matter for the Port on an operational, management and financial basis.
