Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether he plans that the child element of child tax credit and the child element of universal credit will remain the same while universal credit is rolled out.

The government is committed to supporting families on low incomes, including through Tax Credits and the new Universal Credit. Universal Credit will significantly simplify the benefits system for claimants, and ensure that it always pays to be in work and to work more.
