Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps he is taking to improve resilience in NHS supply chains for blood testing equipment.

We have secured tens of millions of additional blood tubes, including importing additional supplies from the European Union and the United States of America and have extended sourcing activity to increase diversity in the supplier base. Regular reviews are held with suppliers to monitor the supply pipeline and processes are in place to prevent over ordering and to support effective mutual aid between service providers.
