Housing: Construction

Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Answer of 26 July 2016 to Question 43423, on housing: construction, if he will publish statistics for net new dwellings in England for the years 1997-98 to 2005-06 comparable to those published for subsequent years.

The number of net additional dwellings in England, since 2000-01 are published in Table 1 of the Net Supply of Housing 2014-15 statistical release, available at this link:

An estimate of the number of net additional dwellings in England, from 1997-98 to 1999-2000 can be derived by calculating the annual change in the total dwelling stock, using published figures in Dwelling Stock live table 104, available at the following link:
