Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the Answer of 5 September 2016 to Question 43735, how many decisions to approve or decline applications from maintained schools to convert to academy status were made by Ministers of her Department in 2015.

The Department’s centralised records do not hold data on who approved or declined the converter academy application as Regional Schools Commissioners (RSCs) act on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education. Therefore only the decision made is recorded in centralised records.
