The Home Office is unable to state how many asylum interviews have been omitted from the asylum process since June 2022 as this information is not held in a reportable format and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.

The Home Office currently employs c.895 asylum decision-makers. There are recruitment strategies in place, with the aim of increasing staffing and reducing the number of cases awaiting a decision and increasing outputs.
