Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many abortions (a) overall and (b) in cases where Down's syndrome had been identified were carried out at each (i) NHS hospital, (ii) clinic and (iii) surgery in Lancashire in 2015.
Abortions in England and Wales are performed in National Health Service hospitals and in registered clinics only. Numbers of Down’s syndrome cases are too small to release by hospital so a total for all Lancashire hospitals has been provided.
