Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will provide funding for prescription deliveries for people who are unable to attend their local pharmacy.
A medicine delivery service was funded during the pandemic for clinically extremely vulnerable patients and for people who were self-isolating. This service has now been decommissioned. A medicine delivery service can be commissioned as an enhanced service if deemed appropriate by local commissioners to fit the need of the population. In addition, distance selling pharmacies are required to deliver dispensed medicines as part of their terms of service and some pharmacies offer delivery of medicines as part of their business model.
