Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, for what reason covid-19 vaccines are only offered by the NHS and not by private clinics.
COVID-19 vaccines are delivered through the National Health Service to ensure that it is free at the point of delivery, in line with the advice from the independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation. As of 30 August 2022, this has enabled over 126 million doses to be administered in England through a range of delivery models, such as pharmacies. While there are currently no plans to use private clinics to provide COVID-19 vaccinations, this will be kept under review.
