Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what information her Department holds on the number of investigations conducted into allegations by service users that they have suffered abuse or harassment from Compass asylum accommodation contractor or sub-contractor staff; in what year each such investigation was carried out; and what the outcome of each such investigation was.
The Home Office and our accommodation providers take complaints extremely seriously and have robust procedures in place to investigate and resolve when specific information is received.
Service Users are encouraged to report issues to their COMPASS provider in the first instance for them to resolve, however Service Users or their representatives can also raise complaints or concerns directly to the Home Office via the contract compliance teams who inspect properties, or through the Home Office's Asylum Customer Contact Centre.
