Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if she will take steps to sell all women's prisons and replace those institutions with smaller units in local areas.

As part of our prison reform announcement we will build and open five new community prisons for women. We are committed to helping female offenders reform and live law-abiding lives and we will be announcing plans to reform the way we manage female and young offenders in the New Year.
