Royal Mail: Road Traffic Control

Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether the Government has undertaken work to establish (a) which exemptions from Traffic Management Orders local authorities offer exclusively to Royal Mail and (b) the value in foregone revenue of those exemptions.

No such work has been undertaken by the Government. Local authorities are responsible for deciding whether or not to exempt certain vehicles such as Royal Mail vehicles from local parking controls with powers available to them in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and any related data would be held by them.
