Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, if she will devolve responsibility for skills funding to (a) the Mayor of London and (b) other authorities; and if she will make a statement.

Skills funding is a matter for the Department for Education. The Government has agreed to the devolution of the Adult Education Budget to a number of English combined authorities as part of its published devolution agreements. We are open to working with other local areas, including London, to discuss how best to respond to their adult skills needs.
