Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many UK-US authentication workshops have been held since 2000 in the (a) UK and (b) US under the auspices of the 1958 US-UK Mutual Defense Agreement on atomic energy matters; which British experts participated in each such workshop; and what public version reports have been published on each such workshop.

No UK-US authentication workshops have been held in the UK since 2000 under the auspices of the 1958 US-UK Mutual Defense Agreement (MDA); two such meetings have been held in the US, one in March 2009 and the other in June 2014. British experts from the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) participated in each workshop but their names are being withheld to protect Personal Information. A summary of the two workshops was recently presented on page 21 and 22 of the Joint US-UK Report on Technical Cooperation for Arms Control that was placed on the US National Nuclear Security Administration website on 12 May 2015.
