Question to the Department for Exiting the European Union :

To ask the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, what estimate he has made of the potential cost to the public purse of the Government's appeal to the Supreme Court on triggering Article 50.

In line with other Government Departments, the Department for Exiting the European Union will pay its legal costs from its budget. As the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union said in his statement to the House on 7 November 2016, all those figures will be published in due course.
