DFID has provided emergency cash transfers to more than 12,000 households and vaccinated three million livestock. We are currently providing 16,000 households with food, child nutrition support, access to health care, clean water and shelter. Our most recent funding, released this month, will provide cash to a further 6,500 households and nutrition and water for a further 50,000 people.

We are closely monitoring the effects of the drought, and matching our own substantial contribution with a campaign to encourage other international partners to step up and do more.
