Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, what the value and nature was of each example of fraud and corruption identified by her Department's internal audit of the Commonwealth Development Corporation Group's internal audit mechanisms in Commonwealth Development in each of the last six years.

CDC has their own internal audit function which reports to the Board. As noted in the recent NAO report four cases were referred jointly to CDC and DFID, and CDC consulted informally with DFID on a further three allegations.

One of these cases – the allegations regarding ECP made in 2010 – is in the public domain. We cannot comment on other allegations.
