To reduce the threat from terrorism, the Home Office funds dedicated Prevent posts and locally commissioned projects in local authority areas where the risk of radicalisation is most acute. Organisations that are commissioned by local authorities to deliver Prevent projects funded by the Home Office are required to submit receipts and invoices to the local authority that commissioned them. On a quarterly basis, the local authority submits a request for grant payment to the Home Office with a breakdown of their expenditure.
