Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether he (q) sought or (b) received advice from the Competition and Markets Authority before taking the decision to bring Oak National Academy into the public sector.

The department discussed draft proposals to create a curriculum body with the Competition and Markets Authority in January 2022. A number of aspects of the proposals, and their implications for competition, were covered.
