Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of repurposing seized Russian assets to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
As the Prime Minister (then Foreign Secretary) confirmed at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in July, the UK Government is actively considering a range of options to permanently seize Russian assets which could be used to contribute towards the reconstruction of Ukraine. To date, the Government has committed £220 million of humanitarian assistance to support those affected by Putin's illegal and brutal invasion of Ukraine.
