Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what estimate she has made of the additional number of animal tests that will be required to be carried out in the UK as a result of the decision to align with the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency in the 2020 Symrise ruling and its approach to regulatory chemical testing.

There will be no increase in animal testing carried out in the UK because the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency in the 2020 Symrise ruling and its approach to regulatory chemical testing reflects the approach already taken in the UK.
