Help to Buy Scheme

Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, how many people have received assistance from the Government's Help to Buy scheme in (a) the UK, (b) Greater London, (c) the London Borough of Newham and (d) East Ham constituency.

Since the launch of the Help to Buy: Equity Loan, Help to Buy: Mortgage Guarantee and Help to Buy: NewBuy schemes, the total number of households which have received assistance from all three schemes is 201,322 in the UK, 10,956 in Greater London, 326 in the London Borough of Newham and 137 in East Ham constituency.

The Help to Buy: ISA figures are based on the number of bonuses paid (per person) rather than per property. In the UK, 38,595 bonuses have been paid out towards 27,222 properties; in Greater London, 3,114 bonuses have been paid out towards 2,354 properties; in the London Borough of Newham, 116 bonuses have been paid out towards 92 properties, and in East Ham constituency, 44 bonuses have been paid out towards 35 properties.
