General Practitioners: Recruitment

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether she plans to take steps to help ensure that GP surgeries employ more (a) GP Assistants and (b) Advanced Practitioners.
This question was answered on 3rd November 2022
In September, we announced in ‘Our plan for patients’ how we will improve access to general practitioner (GP) services. As part of the plan, from October GP assistants can be recruited through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme and the number of advanced practitioners which Primary Care Networks can recruit through the Scheme was increased.
