Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many blood donation appointments have been cancelled due to staffing shortages in the NHS in each of the last 12 months.
NHS Blood and Transplant cancelled 137,136 donor appointments due to staffing shortages from 4 October 2021 to 2 October 2022. The following table shows the number of cancelled appointments in each month from October 2021 to September 2022.
