Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the average processing time was for an application for military service records made by a person requesting (a) their own records, (b) the records of a deceased person and (c) other records in each year since 2010.

The Ministry of Defence takes applications for military service records, including its obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation very seriously.

The Department does not hold the average processing time for each year from 2010 for military service records, split into requests for individuals' own military records, records of deceased personnel, other records and requests from next of kin.
