Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to the press release published by his Department on 4 October 2021, entitled New competition to find first HQ of Great British Railways, in which specific areas of rail his Department plans to drive down on costs.

Great British Railways which will improve efficiency, making it easier and cheaper to plan maintenance, renewals and upgradesā€™ by unleashing the expertise and innovation of the private sector, delivering a more competitive and financially sustainable rail industry, saving money for the taxpayer.

Savings will be expected a result of the removal of duplication and fragmentation, the introduction of streamlined industry processes, the adoption of modern working practices, and the removal of mis-aligned incentives across the system.

Reticulating Splines
