Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what financial support the Government provides for families affected by funeral poverty after the death of a child.

The Department for Work and Pensions makes available Social Fund Funeral Expenses Payments to people who are arranging a funeral, including the funeral of a child, and who are in receipt of a qualifying income-related benefit. Funeral Expenses Payments make a significant contribution towards the cost of arranging a funeral.
