Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what proportion of all defendants have not entered a plea since the introduction of the Single Justice Procedure.

Data regarding the plea entry of defendants at the magistrates’ courts from 2010 – 2020 can be found in the attached (Table 2). This data is published as part of the annual release of magistrates’ courts timeliness information and can be found at the following link:
