Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 12 July 2017 to Question 3555, whether those who currently qualify or have qualified for permanent residence without five years' continuous lawful residence will be eligible for settled status or whether they will have to satisfy the five years requirement.

Those who currently qualify for permanent residence before completion of a continuous period of five years of residence, as per Article 17 Directive 2004/38, will also be eligible for settled status and will not need to satisfy the five year continuous residence requirement.
