Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent steps he has taken to invest in technology to assist with implementing social distancing on trains.

Train operators have taken a range of actions to encourage social distancing on trains, including the deployment of additional staff to assist passengers, new signage and frequent announcements on trains and in stations. The rail industry has also made a journey-planner app available to help train passengers identify quieter services and therefore better maintain social distancing.
