Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of the 2012 expansion to the ten year route to settlement on (a) levels of immigration and (b) immigrant integration.

We are in the process of simplifying the immigration system, including the ten-year routes to settlement. As part of this simplification the impact of existing policies will be taken into account.
