Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps her Department is taking to ensure that visa applications to the UK for political speaking tours take account of any security implications in the context of recent communal violence in Leicester.
All foreign nationals seeking entry to the UK must satisfy either an entry clearance officer overseas, or an immigration officer at the port of arrival, that they fully meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules in the category of entry sought.
They must demonstrate that they have not brought themselves within scope of the general grounds for refusal as set out in the Immigration Rules. In addition, any individual whose presence in the UK is not judged conducive to the public good will be refused entry.
