Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, which Government department is responsible for building a credible case for Afghan nationals who (a) were previously employed by the National Directorate of Security and (b) are applying for assistance under Category Four of the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy scheme.

There is some discretion under Category 4 of the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy to consider, on a case-by-case and exceptional basis, those who worked in meaningful enabling roles alongside Her Majesty's Government, in extraordinary and unconventional contexts. In such circumstances it is the responsibility of the Department that worked closest with the individual applicant in question to build a credible case for consideration under the scheme.
