Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what projections his Department has made of the target strength of the Royal Marines in each of the next five years.
On current plans the requirements for Trained Regular Royal Marines[1] is as follows:

[1] This answer is based on the Navy Planning Liability which is used for planning purposes within the Royal Navy and the figures are rounded to the nearest 100.
The numbers exclude a number of Royal Marine specialisations such as Chefs; Medical Assistants; Aircrewman Commando and Pilots, included with Royal Navy branches for planning purposes.
