Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what plans his Department has to increase the number of NHS dental training positions in the United Kingdom (a) at existing dental training schools and (b) by founding new schools.

There are no current plans to increase the number of dental training places or dental schools in England. However, Health Education England has undertaken the three-year Advancing Dental Care Review of education and training which is being implemented through the Dental Education Reform Programme to improve recruitment and retention in the dental workforce.
