On 28 July we published the National Disability Strategy which sets out the vision to improve the lives of people with disabilities. On 7 September we also committed to investing an additional £5.4 billion to begin a comprehensive programme of reform for adult social care and the cap on care costs and more generous means testing announced will benefit all adults. An extension of the established Disabled Facilities Grant will enable more people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes. We are working with care users, providers and other partners, including disabled people and disability-led organisations, to develop our plans for reform of adult social care and will publish further detail in a white paper for reform later this year.
