Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he has had discussions with representatives of NICE on aligning English guidance on fertility with that guidance in Scotland and Wales to enable prospective parents who cannot conceive through vaginal intercourse to receive six rounds of IUI with the option of funded donor sperm.

There have been no specific discussions. However, the Department and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have discussed access to intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilisation in relation to NICE’s review of its fertility guideline.
