Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many young people have (a) joined and (b) left the air cadets in each of the last five years; and if he will make a statement.

We do not record the numbers of Air Cadets that join or leave per year. However, we publish statistics on the total number of air cadets in both the Air Training Corps and Combined Cadet Force (RAF) sections. For the last five years the total number of cadets in both organisations combined is as follows:
2017 - 39,020
2016 - 40,750
2015 - 41,430
2014 - 42,280
2013 - 42,920
