National Health Service waiting times standards are set out as rights and pledges in the NHS Constitution and the accompanying Handbook to the NHS Constitution. These must be taken into account by all NHS bodies and providers supplying NHS services. They are also reflected in the Government’s mandate to NHS England for 2017-18, which sets out the objectives set for NHS England, with measurable goals to 2020 and priority deliverables for 2017-18.
