Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what plans his Department has to review the eligibility criteria for funeral expenses payments.

My Department has recently conducted a consultation on proposed reforms to the Funeral Expenses Payments scheme. The consultation focused on clarifying issues around eligibility and making the process for claiming Funeral Expenses Payments simpler. We are currently analysing the responses to the consultation and will publish the Government response later in the year.
