Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what steps her Department is taking to support teachers in improving educational outcomes.

Good teachers are critical to improving educational outcomes. We are supporting the professional development of teachers – including through the publication of the Professional Development Standard and the new Teaching and Leadership Innovation Fund – and removing unnecessary workload. Schools have increased flexibilities, enabling Heads to attract the best teachers and focus on delivering an outstanding education for all their pupils.
