Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the Answer of 21 October 2019 to Question 105, Defence: Labour Turnover, what plans his Department has to collect data on the number of workers leaving the UK defence industry.

The Ministry of Defence has no plans to collect data on the number of workers leaving the UK defence industry.

As part of our Defence Prosperity Programme we are working with the Defence Growth Partnership and the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy to develop a new Joint Economic Data Hub (JEDHub) within the UK Defence Solutions Centre at Farnborough to improve how we quantify the defence sector's contribution to the UK economy.
